The authors of Freakonomics recently had a funny post about how God missed the opportunity for cashing in naming animals after corporations. Then discuss the recent deal between 7-11 and the Chicago White Sox for all games to start at 7:11 PM for the next season. Read it here.

So Tasty…
Bacon caramel like a chewy SKOR Bar with bacon. How much more of a comforting flavour combination could there ever be?
Getting paid to blog, without advertising
Published by October 13th, 2006 in wanderthoughts. 0 CommentsSo, there have been a few of these for-sale review sites launching lately, and I’m slightly curious as to the whole thing. The newest to be announced is ReviewMe by the folks that brought you Text Link Ads.
The basic premise as discussed on the site:
What does ReviewMe do?
Advertisers, you pay to get your stuff reviewed [...]
In the words of my good friend Matt “Bacon equals Freedom.”
So, I stumbled upon this wonderful idea. A Bacon Martini…
As far as I know, the originator posted about it here on flickr.
Perfect Bacon Martini
Lightly mist martini glass with vermouth, and rim the edge with bacon grease. In a cocktail shaker, mix 3oz vodka, one dash [...]
Bad Words are funny when they’re unexpected
Published by October 13th, 2006 in wanderthoughts. 0 CommentsOk, I know it’s a little crude, but I just couldn’t help myself from laughing about this. So, I snapped a picture and I share it with you here. It’s a photo of a dent, complete with a little message in the dent.

It links to a page full of Mac specific apps from Google. I am anxious to see what else comes from this land as I’m a huge Google lover and a newly-found Mac Addict.

nytimes.com
imdb.com
washingtonpost.com
digitalpoint.com
Notice two of those are online newspapers… which of course would use a serif font. The other two? I have no idea why. But the message it’s sending [...]
Now, I’m sorry, and I promise that this whole blog won’t be a giant YouTube channel, but this is still funny and original enough to post.
Cheers,
This is exactly why I love the new Web.
Published by October 6th, 2006 in wanderthoughts. 0 CommentsI first saw the Guinness ‘Surfer’ ad about three or four years ago. I loved it and thought it was beautiful. However, a few months later, maybe even again in a year, I was never able to find it-even with my geek-fu Google skills all sharp and stuff. If I spent a good 30 minutes, [...]
