More proof kids don’t fear punishment enough these days

Alright. I often joke about looking forward to being a disciplinarian father when Holly and I ever get around to having kids. And I also often joke about the state of America and how nobody really fears punishment these days. That crime just seems to be increasing because our punishment system isn’t severe enough to be a detractor. This is normally where I chime in that public humiliation and bringing back the public stocks should be implemented. It’s more of a way to get a rise out of people or see how they feel about certain things, and I’m easily entertained by ridiculous conversations.

However, when I saw this video, again, my mind wandered back in time to a day where this kid would get the living sh!t kicked out of him after pulling a stunt like this. And that there is no way in hell he’d be seen on camera for days or weeks without fear and trembling and honest remorse visible in his soul. Instead, he seems to be bragging about what he did, and thinks a weekend without video games would be plenty of punishment for his “hood rat” stunts. Come on people… am I really that off?

Geeks take pictures of geek. It is totally normal for people to take photos of just the unboxing of their new toy (especially when they’ve just been released), posting them online, and being the source of envy.

In this case, the product has been around for a while, but that doesn’t stop this iPhone unboxing to be awesome.

The Kit-In Box is trying to solve all of your cat-on-desk needs. It’s awesome.

My buddy Matt King sent this over and I immediately understood it’s relevance, and was horrified by its existence. I present it to you.

Our cat knows better than to step on or try to sleep on our computer keyboards, but boy does she love to position herself riiight next to them so that some of her fur and extra chub “accidentally” cover a few keys. Coupled with her strange habit of rubbing her face against the sides and corners of monitors and notebook screens, she certainly does her part in encouraging us to procrastinate and “finish up tomorrow.”

She’s too adorable and squishy to ignore or scold, of course, so it’s obviously out of everyone’s control. The only solution? The Kit-In Box wooden pet bed.

But honestly. WTF. Kellogg’s Breakfast cereal is hardcore urban wear? I am truly amazed.

Back from Mexico

Over the past 10 days, I spent 3 in LA with my bestest-friend-of-all-time Jason Pollock, and 7 in the Pacific Ocean on a giant boat. It was pretty awesome. The tacos at Pepe’s in Puerto Vallarta were pretty much the highlight of the trip. That and endless bacon (although, it was buffet-bacon, which is slightly less exciting than true bacon).

I’ll try and post some photos when I get a chance.

When I first arrived at LAX, I noticed this advertisement for LG phones. I thought it was pretty ridiculous.

Keep in mind this is NOT the iPhone, but a competitor. My wife didn’t even realize that. I pointed it out and she thought it WAS an iPhone ad. LG should be ashamed of themselves.
